Noved's 150 gallon tall +75 gallon journal

I figure since I'm starting from scratch with a new tank and new stand I'll try and journal it from the beginning. Not much to show yet, but here it what I have so far. It should be said that the bottom tank will not be used as a sump but is a separate system entirely.

I'm, admittingly, a plant collector but I want the 150 to be an eventual discus or altum tank and only house a few species of plants. I haven't decided exactly what plants to use as of yet. The 75 will be used to satisfy plant collecting needs as will an 80 gallon that I already have set up.

In the mean time here is a picture and video of the fore mentioned 80 gallon set up that I will be robbing of its plants once my new system is up and running.

Video is here:http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature...&v=VUVKRA70XEI

Nice start. Will you use this as a room divider?

I am always a bit worried about stands collapsing... but it's hard to judge from far away.

Your old setup looks lovely too. Love the Mad Lace plants!

'm trying to condition

Yes, it will be used as a room divider.

Its made with 2x4 and 2x4 braceing and the oak covering as well. I worried about the stand stength too at times, but after seeing how my friend's 265 gallon's factory stand is made I'm more then confident it will be more then sufice.

Thanks for the compliment on the mad lace. I'm trying to condition the plant to higher temperatures so that I can use them with discus. I've had my tank over 80 deg now for a couple of weeks and the lace is still growing like crazy. I'll want my tank to be a stable 82-84 once I get the discus in so I'm hopping the plants can handle the high temps.
