75gal planted *Now with discus*

I'm at a point with this tank where i am quite happy with the look of it, still never perfect though and still needs a significant amount of work. Hopefully we'll get some discus in at work in the next few days and I can get a few nice ones.

May this year

And now

Great-sized tank for discus !

Thanks for the encouraging comments, always good to know someone likes your work. I've had a look at your sticky Paul, lots of good info there, I'm thinking I should have no problems keeping discus as i have very thoroughly researched the fish, and if all goes to plan i'll be getting them fresh out of quarantine

I bought two red leopards today, I'm quite happy with how they look, i think their colours work with the plants, next I think I'll get a couple of blue turquoise

Wow you made some amazing strides in just a half a year, great job! Just curious, did you start doing something a lot different like added pressurized CO2 or just pay more attention to it with maintenance and landscaping it?

The discus look great. Be sure to take more pics when you get the teal guys =)

No pressurized, just DIY yeast mix. I haven't made any huge changes really, just been patient waiting for things to grow whiles putting much more effort into scaping/pruning. I got the discus from an importer which is fairly local to me (still a 45 minute drive).

The tank isn't looking its finest atm, did a massive prune, and am waiting for it to grow back, hopefully looking better. I am surprised though that all the plants have done do well at 30 degrees (86 Fahrenheit) as I've read that most plants don't do so well at such a high temp.

Yes, and it's amazing too that so many plants, given time, can adapt quite well to those high temps, and therefore do well.

I've been doing a fair bit of work on this tank, still not where I want it to be. I feel its lacking the finer detail that nicer looking tanks have. I've done some trimming and added some rocks, also removed the hairgrass which i didn't feel worked.

Edit: Might try to get my hands on a decent camera, these pics are quite poor quality
