decided to do a 20Long...if a mod sees this can you change the title to 20g instead of 10?
rooms kinda messy cause were rearranging the apartment. la...its not allowed to be that messy generally.
Pic is with the MGO in there on the bottom, just used one 6# bag and then the rocks from the 10g which was 10lbs maybe? it does smell kinda funny...lol. caught the kitten in the tank snffin it out

put driftwood where i wanted it and added rocks on top of MGO and then put a bowl in there to catch water as i filled up the tank, so that the substrate wasnt AS disturbed. Took about 10 minutes to switch the tank from the 10 to 20 and then I let fish sit in a bowl for a bit to adjust to temp and water.

my 2 pity bettas are in there too...couple pitiful females from petsmart 99c sale. only 2 that were alive out of the seven females. theyll be moved once 75g is set up into there.

ignore the dirty glass...i know thats major pet peeve of some people...but hubby had to go to work and baby was crying so didnt wanna get more into it

Changed the title for you. If you go to "Edit", and then "Go Advanced" the title can be named there. Figured I'd let you know how so you can update it and others in the future if you like.

I love platy fish! Some of my favorites. Had them for years. Been thinking of setting up another tank of them. I had to laugh at the dirty glass since my tank looks like that the majority of the time.

Without Algae, death of mankind would be inevitable.

for some reason....gasses maybe? my fish died and my tank smelt like poop.
everything from the 10g was moved to 20g so i dont think it was a cycling issue. Maybe oxygen related? Bettas were fine.

so hubby said no more poop smelling tanks, my daughter freaked out cause she thought i was playing with poop and she didnt like my hands dirty, ha

so now i emptied the tank and waiting until i can make it to the store. think i will be going with black sand using root tabs. hoping sand will hold little root systems better than gravel.

I would guess that it was a cycling issue. Your tanks only been set up for four days and there were six fish in there. Granted you had used the old substrate but I would still guess a cycling issue. Possibly an Ammonia Spike.

tanks all cycled after daily water changes and guessing plants helped too.
two female bettas are fighting now though, so hoping once i get some other fish in there there wont be an issue with them
