36g Bowfront Update (New Pics) 11-2-2011

Its been about 3.5 weeks since the newst update so I wanted to take some pictures : )

The only real changes has been to CSM-B over Seachem Comprehensive, and the use of a higher KNO3 dose (~15ppm N and 7ppm K).

I have lost one neon that was much much smaller than the rest. On a good note, everyone else is doing well and nice and fat. The male GBR noticed the second female and has been trying to get her, even going as far as digging a hole for her, but she still refuses him. Otos are nice and plump.

Oh yea, I also added a second powerhead today with a single co2 bottle on it. If I notice anything with the fish after its going, I will be pulling it.

Enjoy the before and after pics : )

Well I went to petco this morning looking for some gravel for another tank and I happened to see that they had just got a new order of plants in. Turns out they have bunches of plants at our local petco (bacopas, hygro ludwigia), so I picked up a ludwigia repens to add to the 36g.

I also went to Michaels and picked up some black cotton thread to tie the java fern.

I got the new co2 running and no one sees to show any signs of co2 poisoning so looks like its good to go.

Here is an updated photo after a trim and the new changes

nice tank, I love that red plant in the back center and the fern up on the rock on the right, if that top fills in with that, that will be a cool piece.
this may just be me but does anybody else see a black and white angelfish on that rock in the front? it is facing to the back right, I was like, that wasn't on the fauna list?!?!?!?!!! WOAH! I want that rock, it looks so real

Two and a half months later and everything's ticking away. I ran into some gsa and upped dosing on phosphates. Seems to have done the trick. Plants have filled in nicely. Added a whole bunch of various shrimp. RCS, Car. Babaulti (sp?), Car. propinqua, and amanos. Enjoy
