Very nice equipment. Doesn't it feel nice to have all new, top shelf gear?

From your photos, it appears you are going with a bonsai inspired approach. The manzanita is meant to convey a tree? If that's the case, I think you want to keep proportions in mind. I'd only use very small stones and plants with small leaves to keep the effect consistent.

I hope you found it worth every bit the wait!

I sincerely apologize about the customs delays and earthquake hiccups abounding around this container, and it is very refreshing for me on a personal level to see people get their prized items in hand finally.

It was definitely worth the wait. I can't believe how much better ADA tanks look in person.

-PS- Thank you for the lifetime supply of packing peanuts. Haha. I can only imagine how many you go through on a daily basis. I have about 5 garbage bags full of them.

Update:

I raised/adjusted the slopes of the AS Normal layer then added the final AS Powder top. Since the picture is hard to make it out the substrate levels the height difference front to back on the left is 2.5" and the right 1.5".

I'm thinking about transferring some UG from my 2 emmersed grow tanks to start a DSM foreground that will spread along the right side and a few inches in the front left?

Loving the clean slope of the substrate. I'm also a huge fan of UG, and would love to see it implemented here. Perfect grassy lawn

Great equipment.

Love the scape already.

What kind of wood is that?

The wood is Manzanita that is from Badcopnofishtank.

Update:

I filled the tank to just above substrate height last night to allow the substrate to become fully saturated before initial planting for DSM.
After work today I will drain the water slightly and begin the long and tedious task of planting the UG. There will be an another update later tonight once this is finished.

Update:

Dry Start Begun 6/9/11

Just finished transferring the emersed UG from my 5G/10G grow tanks. I'm a little worried about the section where the branch casts a shadow across the substrate. If call goes to plan there should be a nice carpet.

FTS of initial planting (6/9)

Top view of initial planting (6/9)

Finished and covered with saran wrap (6/9)
