new 75g

just picked up a 75 from my uncle and what a mess this thing was... Used to be a FOWLER tank... Covered in every type of marine algae I have ever seen..

I finally got it cleaned up and now the debate begins.

I was originally going to set it up as a holding tank for african cichlids for my maintenance accounts. But now I want to set it up as a grow out system with live plants above it (pothos and airplants, maybe bamboo. And crinum onions in the gravel)

fish selection will be yellow labs. And a large assortment of peacocks ( all babies, so I can grow them out and sell the adults to make soon cash) anyone see any potential issues?

Ok, tank has been leak tested and she holds water just fine.
I ordered UV bulbs (CFL 5.0 UV B) and domes for them which I will have Friday morning.

filtration:
2 x Emperor 400 power filters.

gravel:
Huge mix of stuff. small stone, a bit of cichlid sand. and flora base. Should work for the crinum onions with some root ferts. (thanks over_stocked)

going to pick up about 15 yellow labs friday morning (2" fish)

hopefully pics will be up of the hard scape within an hour, I am draining it now so I can move it...

Water changes and letting it settle will be the best problem solver for you.

nice, thanks chris.

I e-evaluated my plan, and have filled the tank with about 50g of water and hooked a canister up. I plan on still doing the cichlids, but I have room for more terrestrial plants now.
