29G First tank!

Hello all,

New to planted tanks. I finished setting it up about two weeks ago, and Ammonia and Nitrite are testing at 0. From what I've been reading plants are next. I have been thinking a ground cover like grass, Anubias for around the driftwood, and stem plants for the back. I would love some suggestions, and guidance for the next steps!

29 Gallon Aqueon
Grech "SUNSUN" HW-302 Filter
Aquatic Life 30" T5HO
Aqueon Heater
Flourite three bags
Seachem Flourish Excel and Prime

I have a paintball tank for c02 but have not built the regulator or bought any of the needed hardware to use yet.

...CO2 before plants! We did the opposite with our first tank; not a good experience: lots of algae, and too many dead fish; plant health is essential to our overall aquarium well-being; light is very important, but it MUST have CO2 with it!

You should be able to find some good, low-cost suggestions for building a paint-ball CO2 system on this forum; good luck.

...it's about the fish.

Nice start! You really didn't need to wait for the cycle to plant plants. They would've helped cycle the tank.

I second that you need co2 soon with that lighting.
