Here's a recent pic of my 15 tall qt tank. It house a breeding pair of praecox rainbows and some very small juvenile botia kubotais and my last platy.
Plants are rotala indica, eleocharis grass, contortion vals, mayaca fulviatilis, java and windelov ferns and hygro siamensis.

& small yoyo and striata loaches and praecox rainbows.

Looks good. Most Vals tend to take over in my tanks, but yours look nice and compact. I would still not use them as a foreground plant. Rotala needs a haircut, hehe

Nice tank, I agree with wasserpest about the vals being in the foreground. They look so much better in the back, but yeah nice tank.

hehe

I want it to be a "jungle tank" to help with some breeding activity but the vals were only planted along the end of the tank.In the last month they have sent out runners which have turned into new taller plants along the front . These are the first vals I have gotten to grow healthy so I might just move the rotala to the back middle ? In my 70 the same vals are short and twisted as the sand has no trace elements in it.
I suck at aquascaping ..
