I also decided to update my lighting on my 110 deep and picked up a 36-48" double bright led light to replace my "ancient" 55w quad cf lamps. I do like it overall, somehow expected a bit more of a "brilliant" effect with the shimmer they claim, but I also am flanking mine with 2 39w t5ho bulbs. I really like the streamlined look and no heat transfer. I got mine for $120ish which I felt was a good price. Do you have any similar thoughts?

I considered getting one of each to see if they looked better using the two different spectrum outputs, but due to the doubling of the cost for the reef fixture and the space limitations I have with the hood I decided to just use the one LED fixture with T5HOs next to it. I really like the look with the led and giesemann plant bulbs, and it is right about at the top of the brightness I'd want since i have discus.
