Nice colors in there, you've got the 'growing the plants' part working for you.

Aquascape? I'm a crypt farmer.

It's a fine line between fishing and standing on the shore looking like an idiot.

That IS an aquascape, it's titled "The Vacant Lot".

I don't know. Now that you mentioned it, I may try something.

Any recomendations ?

I love the Ludwigia also. It always looks best against a Hygro. It has a bad habbit though of shedding the bottom leaves and wanting to grow staright up. I need to read some more on it to see what kind of trimimng would work best.

It always seems distracting somehow to be able to see clean through the tank. Especially when all the lines and tubes are visible. My planted tank has a natural cork background and I think it looks pretty good. My other tanks are painted with black rustoleum (happened to have it laying around) and they don't look to bad either. I've seen others created out of slate that look pretty cool. I might try it on my next tank.

Nice tank, Jackfrost! But I have a feeling that your photos aren't doing it justice. Try taking a photo at night (or dusk), and without using the flash. This will eliminate glare, and won't bleed the color out of the plants. You may need to fidget with your digital camera settings a bit, but it will be worth it.

For backgrounds, I spraypaint with Krylon Fusion ($4-5 Walmart/AceHardware). Holds well, and comes off with a razorblade. It would be all-but impossible to spray a set-up tank, but the next time you break er down, you'll want to make the move. Until then, a cheapo laminate from the LFS would help.

I am a big fan of the moss wall for a background. I have a xmas moss wall that is just beginning to take shape. Its going to look great. Well worth the wait.

Well I must say that I never really thought about backgrounds.

After you folks mentioned it I went and looked at othe pictures here on the forum and realized that all of them had backgrounds.

I liked all your ideas. The cork background sounds very interesting. I also like the moss idea too.

Well, I will see what I can do. I have a new 4 megapixel Cannon camera on order. Should be here next week. I will try and take some better shots, without the flash. The one I took the pictures with will not allow me to turn it off. Its kinda old (2 megapixels).

Thank you all for your nice comments.

wow ! Unirdna I just saw your tank. Its incredible ! truly a work of art. It looks like an Amano tank.
