Did you move the cone more into the flow?
Hi OVT

I asked the experts at Simply Discus and they said that the pair should produce some nicely colored/patterned fry. Some would most likely have the Heckel markings, others not. But, they are both Alenquers. The male is an F1 Alenquer and the female is an Alenquer/Heckel cross.

I didnt move the cone to a position of better flow. Thanks for reminding me of this-- I will do that.

In the early 90's I worked for Alan Wienke in Durham, I guess you'd call him a pro, since he bred discus for a living. He used vertical PVC for laying areas but to memory they sure laid on the glass a lot. These aquariums were bare except for heaters and sponge filters too and they still opted to lay on the glass sometimes.
Thank you!

I get so excited when they spawn-- and so down in the dumps when they eat them !!
Heres hoping for a better outcome...

These guys have spawned numerous times. No go. I think one of them is not fertile. Oh well. Hopefully I’ll get a male or female wild from my group that will pair with one or the other when they mature.
Here is a few pictures of the discus and juvenile Rams. Just added the Rams to this tank last week to make room for the new breeding group of Rams I received. They are loving this tank.

Thank you @OVT for the new plants. They are doing great so far in here.

Gorgeous!

How much gallons/litres?

Just got rid of a pair of troublesome angels (yes, they were the responsible of some fish vanishing, thanks for that) and got a pair of rams LFS calls 'koi rams'. I'd love to have another discus instead, but I think my tank is not big enough

That is a beautiful discus.

The juvenile rams are only here temporarily-- until I sell them over next few weeks. Typically it is just the discus pair and green tetras in this 60 gallon tank.
