Mopani underneath all the anubias, been growing that piece since 2013. Doing another staurogyne repens carpet as I loved that on one of my older setups. The anubias has grown for 7 years with no ferts/no CO2 and just a few water changes for most of that time. Not planning on this being a 'no water change' tank.
CO2 up and running. Aquario Neo diffuser making a very fine mist. Did paintball because academy is close for fills, but academy nor dicks sporting fill anymore apparently. Probably switch to a 2.5# in that case.
Planted some ludwigia super red a couple days ago, topped staurogyne growth and planted tops. Everything is growing well so far, even the ludwigia has new leaves.
Growth has been nice. Ludwigia did not make it. I've turned the lights down a bit so the stauro does not grow as fast. I tend to stick with giant bettas, or plakats at a minimum, as they are more robust swimmers with less finnage to drag around so I don't have to baby water flow.
The growth has really taken off since the last update. I added an inline CO2 atomizer to better distribute CO2 and took a razor to the black mesh that was on the top portion of the tank. Also upgraded was changing the stock pump to an Eheim Compact 600.
Missed having a higher tech setup and wanted to start growing carpets again, even if they are easy carpets. Also gives me more flexibility on what I can toss in the tank and be successful with, if I ever want to change it up. I probably would not have thrown a nice Buce in without the CO2, for example, but with it I didn't think twice.
I have a similar setup in that I have Anubias and Buce growing in a thick grouping in and around each other and the Buce is definitely outgrowing the Anubias.
Whole tank picture after a WC. No problems to report. Growth has gotten a bit better with the CO2 dialed in via the new regulator from Bettatail coupled with an inline atomizer.
Added a few new pieces of wood to spread my Brownie Ghost along. They are growing much faster than I anticipated, as I've essentially quadrupled my plant mass in a month.
Well, almost had a disaster. Wooden leg on my stand gave up. I heard it cracking and was able to prop it up and keep it from crashing. Bought a Fluval Flex 15 stand and got it set up today, worked out very nicely. Allows me to watch the tank from angles I have not typically been able to view.
I'm a week past due on trimming the stauro. I keep it high, but I trim about once a month. Here is the culprit of the near miss undergoing repairs, no more aquarium duty for it.
That's a beautiful tank. I love your forest of anumbias with the buce centerpiece. I just got a Flex 15gal with the stand and am inspired with what you've done with yours.
Growth continues. I've gone back to a pollen style diffuser and put it into the filter compartment in the back, did not like the bubbles from the atomizer. I also added some Buce Black Venti in as well that is just getting started.
Went on a week long vacation and came back to my Brownie Ghost blooming. Very cool.
