My personal routine with new aquasoil is 2x week 60-70% water changes for the first 3-4 weeks and then go to 1x week. But I'd just keep doing what you're doing since things are going so well.
Thanks! Yea I thought the "recommended" ADA schedule was a little excessive but I have it down to like 5 minutes so I don't mind it. 2 buckets, a siphon and a small 100gph pump does wonders!

All of the plants I bought actually had some noticeable green hair algae when I planted them and that already died back. Other then diatoms and some light fuzz on the wood, I haven't been able to notice anything else!

3 week update!

- Monte carlo is carpeting great but not looking as green. Not sure if it's just diatoms making it look yellower or some melting going on.
- Rotala Indica stems have finally stopped melting and is growing great. Its a nice red and the leaves are constantly pearling.
- Rotala Macrandra in the back right is growing like weeds. I really like the overgrown look with floaters but its starting to look messy. I might start trimming and replanting to try and get it looking fuller
- GHA is starting to become more noticeable. Lighting is still at 4.5 hours, just going to remove it manually for now.
- Snails everywhere! My plants must've been infested because they're multiplying like crazy
- Cycle is just about complete. Im getting readings of .25 ammonia and nitrite over a 48 hour period after WC's. Time to start making some stocking decisions!

This is a fantastic start, and is looking great! Can't wait to see what this becomes over the next few months!

That's really taking off! Congrats on the early success. Agree, I might trim that Rotala back to the surface line to keep it from growing too stringy. You can also plant the cuttings directly into the soil if you so choose.

Nothing good happens fast in an ecosystem.

@dan0788 How do you like the filter? I’m investigating for a new setup and space is limited. Did you have to mod anything for the lily pipes?
