75G From Dutch -> Not So Dutch

Hello All! I'm switching my tank from a dutch-ish tank, into one with hardscape (whatever it's called), figured I'd make a second attempt at a tank journal, as the other thread died out and I accidentally deleted some important pictures. Well here we are!
TANK EQUIPMENT-
- 75G TANK
- Hydor 600 Canister Filter
- 20 Lb Co2 Tank
- Fluval Plant 3.0 (have a 2.0 as well if needed)
- Inline Co2 Diffuser
- Hydor Koralia 240 Circulation Pump
- Aqueon 300W Heater
- Azoo Skim 250 Surface Skimmer
- Substrate: 140 Lbs Imagitarium White Aquarium Sand
- Stand: Aquatic Fundamentals 75 Gallon Aquarium Stand

STOCK-
- 9 Otos
- 11 Whitefin Tetras
- 11 Rummynose Tetras
- 17 Kuhli Loaches
- 5 Sterbai Corys
- 3 Black Venezuelan Corys
- 6 Siamese Algae Eaters
- 3 Amano Shrimp

Plants I'm working with:
S.repens
Limnophila Rogusa
Ludwigia Rubin
Lobelia Cardinalis
Limnophila Hippuroides
Pogostemon Erectus
Ludwigia Palustris
AR Mini

Now for some history of the tank-

We've all been there... This is where it all started for me, a miserable 40G.

Ended up giving away the 40G, and upgraded to a 75G. Some first scapes.

Some of my first stock (still alive).

A bit of neglect/boredom kicks in and algae/cyano creeps in...

Finally some dutch like scape progression.

Now this is the tank as of 5 minutes ago.

Tank has been on autopilot for a while, been getting bored of the scape until I saw @Hendy8888 tank yesterday. Huge shout out to him! Went out early in the morning today and bought some lava rocks. Will finally add hardscape to my tank after almost 3 years! These are the pieces I managed to pick up.

Hopefully I didn't bore you guys too much, but that's it for now. Any questions? Ask away!

Hey @Greggz & @Discusluv! Always nice to see you!
Just finished up scaping and replanting stuff, and let me tell you, this is harder than it looks. I'm not really the most creative + I have no experience with hardscape... Wish I had bigger rocks to add to the back, might make a 40 mile drive tomorrow to a different store, maybe they'll have what I need. Only finished one side today, ran out of rock. Well here goes nothing, don't laugh too hard haha.

ONLY DID THE LEFT SIDE TODAY, ALL OTHER PLANTS/ROCKS ARE TEMPORARY

Thanks! I drove out of state to pick em up, only 1 place I found online that sells em for a reasonable price. Was a state over from me too. Paid 65$ for 5, sadly 1 died shortly after QT, was very skinny, and 1 got sucked into the hose during a wc. I've since placed a mesh over the hose.

If you're willing to wait, Home Depot has 20 lb bags of pretty large lava rock for $30, and they'll usually ship for free.

The reviews aren't great, but that is mostly from people who have no idea what they're talking about/no idea how computers work. I can vouch that they are good looking rocks, and way cheaper for the volume/weight than you'll get at a pet store.

Didn't really think about home depot tbh. Should've just went with them from the start by the looks of it. I paid 33$ today for 11lbs haha. Just ordered 20Lbs, will be picking up in a week. Thanks for the idea!

Rocks came in today finally... Weren't exactly what I expected size wise, but I'll try to work around that. Only got 2 big rocks, others are med-small. This is what 20 lbs of black lava rock looks like...

I plan on starting the scape tomorrow, going to start extra early. Plan to pull all the plants and make the hills bigger on both sides, bought extra sand as well. For now, the rocks are in a bucket with H202 overnight.

A bit of an overdue update. Finally finished the scape, kept redoing it every other day. It's really hard to scape with 50 fish in the tank and the sand keeps eroding, just a big PITA, so this will do. The last of the plants came in yesterday. Well... here it is!

Ended up getting some cory eggs, tried raising them. 8/12 hatched. I ordered a ziss aqua breeder, took a week to get here, lost most of the fry but.... still have 3 left. At least now I have the breeder for next time.

That's all for now.
