Viridescent’s 75 gallon Journey

Itching to get the tank setup.

The background is on, the tank is leveled with shims and all the equipment, plants, decor and whatnots are here.

Life circumstances got in the way of doing it this weekend. 😞

Got the hardscape design practiced and I think it’s gonna be sweet.

Feedback is welcome!

Worked on the hardscape tonight. So much rinsing of sand... my swishing hand is raw. But I’m really pleased with the progress I made!

Tried to really emphasize the slope so that when I adhere the roots it will look like they are climbing down and sloping down.

I want to try and keep the tank low-tech, for now... I actually have a CO2 tank that I got from my dad, as he was a home brewer, but don't want to go there yet. Once everything starts to get established and balanced I will be starting to figure out the fish plan. I know that I want 20 or so rummy nose tetra, mystery snails and shrimp. I haven't gotten too much into fish culture as I've been focusing on researching and gearing up for everything else.

Thats the smart way. Take it slow and steady.

Subscribed. It looks great so far. I just purchased a 75 gallon as well so anxious to see how you progress on yours.

Got some work into the tank. Had a disaster moment when I filled the tank up having thought I secured the driftwood under some rocks sufficiently.... I hadn’t. Which then as I filled the tank destroyed my design about 75%. I managed to get it a bit situated so the water logging can continue in the tank. Got the plants in, too, though not in the final home. When I do a water change tomorrow I will reposition the plants. I think it looks pretty decent.

Don’t mind the randomly placed sponge filter. 🙂 The dang thing would not sink with the air stone in it so I thought I’d give it a few days to sit and think about behaving.
