20g long rescape

I have had this tank setup for awhile now but felt like doing a rescape on it.

tank: 20 gallon long
co2: diy co2
light: finnex planted+ 24/7
light cycle: 5 on, 4 off, 5 on
substrate: organic potting soil capped with black diamond blasting sand
filter: forgot the model and brand. HOB rated for 20 gallon or less i think?

livestock: will put my nieces betta in there for the time being
plants: utricularia graminifolia, crypt undulata, crypt beckettii, crypt spiralis, blyxa aubertii, staurogyne repens

this is how it used to look.

and this is the new scape.

That's a big change! It will be interesting to see how it grows out. What motivated you to redo it? I think it looked great before the renovation.

Glad you liked it. I only keep scapes for a year or 2 and then I get bored with them. I really liked the original scape and thought it was the best I had done so far but I felt it was time for something new.

Fair enough, and certainly a good a reason as any! In my current build, a 40B, I was so eager to get something in the tank everything is basically just "stuck in" until I can formulate a plan.

I know exactly what you mean lol. My first few tanks were the same since I went on a collecting rampage. I think in the first month I bought 20 different species of plants. You should post a thread about your tank. I would love to see where it's at now and you could get a million ideas of where to go with the tank from people on here.
