First flower from aponogeton - bit shaky but looks established.

Lotus lost all the long leaves but looks to be going ok near ground level. Be awhile before I have to worry on pruning it

Water change and some plant cleanup. GSA came off the glass readily so hopefully stays away!

Nitrates at 20ppm (maybe 40ppm) and phosphate at 1pmm or bit less. Not overdosing anyways luckily.

Umíed on getting 5gal tank out but left for another week. Finish some house projects first but cherry shrimp would be tempting!

Maybe there is something to the seachem advance. The Anubias nana is riddled with BBA but seems to have a flower stem as well.

I donít know what to do with it. Dosing glut and growing bolbitis over it to shade it but the BBA is in the roots on the driftwood, etc. Iíll give it to November auction I guess.

Anyone tried expanded clay pebbles for Aquaponics in a planted tank? I could get another couple of bags of seachem flourite clay but have been interested in trying this for a few years. Finally come across a small pebble size as well as most seem to be 8mm to 16mm. Thoughts?

Latest tank photo this morning with the seachem flourite black added and bolbitis fern cleaned back. Added more crypts and stem plants.

I think my lighting is a bit less but will see how the red stem plants go. Bolbitis may have a new shoot - watched very closely!! The H2O2 cleaned off some BBA off anubias - mostly shifted to middle of tank to hide it as didnít have the heart to throw it out.

Long shot of tank (no more tiger barbs for me, too much little trouble-makers).

Shrimp tank led arrived (cables everywhere now!). Just have to wait to next auction to get more shrimp and guppies.

Nitrates reading of 20 (JBL 25) and TDS 300 (found meter at back of cupboard). Phosphate 1pmm.

Lots of expired test kits - some as far back as 2017 Found a ph pen so might try that later.

Sword plant has another leaf just starting so will see how long it takes to get up two and a half feet. Last one seemed to do nothing and then it was there.

Iíve drained tanks onto back lawn for last couple of years during water change. Today was into a bucket for a small tank. I think I might get longer tubing so it goes into sink rather than bucket.

On the plus side, my floor looks clean after mopping it dry.....

Itís been quiet on the aquarium front with all the house painting going on.

Large tank is still about the same.

Got carried away and picked up yellow phantom tetras for the other tank plus some baby bristlenose catfish. Quite nice, small fish that seem to have settled well and busy keeping each other in line.

Finally adjusted ph probe last night and running over night the fish are still alive bwahaha.

Calibrated new ph pen and it looks like the ph probe reads 0.2 or so under.

Then it went downhill - put probe in glass of ph 4 calibration solution but when I lifted up probe meter it must of pulled the probe out of glass.

Result was glass of water down tank backing and probe fell 2 metres sigh. Amazingly the probe didnít smash and then I put a wooden spoon between tank backing and glass to let it dry with no watermarks.

Fiddled with ph probe cutout and seems better. Will check tonight.

I need to rescape plants by height but for the moment..

Thanks! It either needs completely redoing or buy some tall plants for height at back (trip to stores very tempting!!).

Left the Anubias too long out of water last change (big sigh). The leaves curled and hoped it would come back but just looks bad now. Oh well - give it a trim.
