120 gallon up and running, seeking advice
Good day all,
I've dumped a vast number of hours over the past 3 weeks into getting my 120 display tank up and running. Cycling in final stages, and expecting to be able to add to it in a few days. I've got 2x Finnex Planted+ 24/7 for light and EcoComplete/Pool Sand for substrate. Mostly going smoothly with the exception of losing my Ludwigia to a poor planting location and inadequate light.
Advice and comments welcome; I'm looking for a good tank-safe mesh to make a tool to sift the substrate out of the sand. Envisioning a square of mesh between thin wood squares and a dowel for a handle. I'm wondering if there's a good source for different gauge mesh in the aquarium or craft/fabric worlds that would be ideal for design.
Anticipating putting an Aponogeton Crispus or Bolivianus on one side. I'm also seeking a leafy plant that would extend it's leaves over the center of the tank without taking over. Maybe something like a Crinum species or the like.
So in closing, can anyone advise where to find a mesh that would work and any advice on the midground centerpiece plant welcome (14-16" tall preferred)?
Thanks in advance for words.
