I really like the shape of that tank! What are you going to put in there now?

Prolly replace the tank with 2ft tall. This was just 15" tall. Then get some earth eaters. Or something like that.

Before you tore the tank down- did you lose any fish with the open top like this?

180 g. low tech w/ wild South American cichlids, corydoras eques, and African Congo riverine tetras.
60 g. low tech w/ F1 Alenquer discus pair and wild Altum Angels
30 g. low tech - Breeding tank
30 g. low-tech Shrimp tank - wild-type neocaradina and Caridina cf. babaulti "Zebra"
9 gallon Shrimp tank- Caridina cantonensis ("Golden Bee's"). *Tank still at cycling stage.

That is amazing- Ive raised discus for 17 years and haven't met one that didn't hit the top glass from natural cichlid behaviors, breeding behaviors with con-specifics at least once a month.
What happened to all these fish? There are far less in one picture than the other.

I'm sorry the pictures aren't consistent. I am posting from phone and my gallery is a mess. I moved the discus to a 60gallon cube later on. I also always kept the water at least 1.5" below the top surface.
