Let me introduce myself. I started in the hobby about a year ago and this is my second tank. My first tank was an ada 45p iwagumi pictured here

I got bored of it and sold it to a friend and it’s still going. My current tank is for just holding me over until I can upgrade to an ada 90p or 120p once I move (which who knows when that will be...)

Ok, so here’s my current setup
Ada 30c
Ada aquasky g 301
Seachem matrix
Seachem purigen
Zoo med nano 10 canister filter
Jardli glass inlet and outlet
Zoo med aquasun power strip timer
Archaea pro co2 regulator
Uns tank stabilizing
Uns bubble counter (would not recommend)
Aquario neo co2 diffuser
Viv drop checker
Archaea mini aquarium heater

Fish/invertebrates stock list
6 hengeli rasboras
1 female pea puffer
2 zebra otocinclus
6 amano shrimp
10 dream blue velvet shrimp

Plants/substrate/hardscape
small seiryu stone
Manzanita wood
Tropica soil
Ada la plata sand
Anubius nana petite
Lanjak entimau
cryptocoryne wendtii green
cryptocoryne parva
Hygrophila siamensis
Some other random stems
Christmas moss
Pothos

On that tank I will. the tank is my retirement project. So I have the time to do a lot of documentation.

So I’ve been battling black beard algae, and black hair algae in this tank. Unfortunately it hitchhiked with lanjak entimau and I didn’t notice it. I tried a little experiment to see if Rachel O’Learys theory works in which she added a houseplant called pothos in her hang on back filter on her tank. She was purposely letting bba overrun the tank for the look and it apparently took out all of the bba. So I bought pothos and thought it would be cool to put the leaves on the branches and let the root stay in the tank. Hopefully it eventually vibes up around the branches. Two weeks later and still have bba and bha. It’s not all over yet so now I’m spot dosing seachem flourish excel during every water change which is pretty much my only option to get rid of it other then using hydrogen peroxide.

Other then the little bit of bba and bha the tank looks great. Some leaves on the crypts wendtii green are melting a little from the flourish excel but I read that’s normal. Fish and shrimp are all healthy.

Bump:

Did a water change today and decided to tidy up my co2 lines and move it by the outflow. Long story short I broke the UNS bubble counter and the UNS u-glass just by trying to remover the tubing so I can cut it shorter.

AVOID Uns co2 glassware it’s thin and cheaply made! I guess I can say you get what you pay for in this hobby.

Thanks. I was always told to plant heavily from the start 🙂. I ordered a jardli bubble counter off of amazon. Hopefully the glass isn’t as thin as uns’s glass.

One trick is to use a hair dyer to heat the tubing a little then pinch the like to make it loose at where it attach’s to the glass wear.

Thanks, I’m probably going to try that method next time since I’m being too cheap to buy ada glassware with this tank
