20g Long divided RCS/ CRS/Yellow Journal w/ PICS!!!

So I've decided to make a journal to document the progress of my 20g divided Cherry/Yellow/CRS farm.

Lighting: 2 Hampton Bay desklights (until I can get a T5 fixture)
Substrate: FloraMax
Filtration: Sponge filters and HOB's on each side

Beasts: One side houses 25 RCS and the other houses 10 Yellows and 10 S grade CRS (new as of today!!!!)

Flora: Marimo balls, pellia, flame, peacock, java mosses.

Ketchup and Mustard shot:

Cherry side of the tank:

Yellows:

Yellow and CRS meeting for the first time:

My new Aquabid CRS:

And my favorite picture- a yellow shrimp climbing up my HOB filter:

Thanks! Yeah I don't know why they do that!!! I think she was eating the algae up there...there was also a zebra nerite up there today lol!

The background is just catappa leaves standing up. I have black paper behind the tank as well.

I think they like the algae up there? Maybe some sort of instinct to move against current?

I think it must be the current. I just checked inside the HOB and there were 5 (YES, 5!!!!) CRS and two yellows in there. Luckily they're all alive and back in the tank. Needless to say, the water level will be staying about an inch lower than that permanently.

The floating plants are Amazon Frogbit. The roots are very nice and act as a shrimp jungle gym of sorts. lol!

VERY nice looking tank! I LOVE the natural look you have going on! Beautiful, well done! Love the shrimp shots too, really nice pictures I'd really like to see "full tank shots" of each half of the tank.....if that makes any sense lol

nice tank. This is what I was going to try and do. How did you divide the tank? silicone and a piece of glass?

Just 1 more I promise......

Thanks everyone!! I'll be posting full shots of each side of the tank soon!

Basically I just got a piece of scrap plexiglass from a frame shop and siliconed it in. Usually if you go to a framer they'll sell you scrap glass and plexi for cheap.

The only downside is that waterchanges are a PITA because I have to keep both sides level or the stress causes the plexi to bend and it's breaking the silicone. Maybe thicker plexi or just plain old glass would work better....

Finally got around to taking shots of each side of the tank.
The Yellow/CRS side-

And the Cherry side-

The CRS are finally starting to settle in...turns out they love Hikari Shrimp Cuisine but don't care for Azoo Max Growth, Max Breed or Hikari Algae Wafers. Hmph.

One more pic of one of my favorite CRS...can someone tell me which grade the one on the right is? I can't seem to find any pictures that look like him..
