6g Low tech glass box of meh!

Originally was a 6g AIO. I ripped the false wall out just to make more room over all. Now a days I sort of regret doing it as it worked well to hide the equipment and may have led to the survival of a couple more shrimp as they wouldn't of been victim to the filters intake in the early days of the aquarium

Currently being lit by two LED fixtures, one is about a year old and doesn't quite shine like it used to. I picked up another and am running both as a temp solution until I move to my new place.

Live stock 7 tetras 1 corydoras 4 CRS 2 Unknown types, Odd Brown striped and clear coloration. Unknown amount of baby's as I didn't separate the two gravid mamas, but have spotted 2 teeeeny ones and at least one has already molted.

Few lbs of Seryu stone and single piece drift wood. Id like to pickup quite a bit of dragon stone and dwarf baby tears and either go with a bigger tank or redo this one.
Was using all Fluval stratum, didn't really care for it, went with half stratum half play sand. Plants are growing better in the sand! Might go with sifted soil and a sand cap.

The big boy Ive had almost a year now. Hes a bit over an inch long and looks to be obese, Anyone know the normal resting heart rate of tiny shrimp?

Small meeting of the shrimps to welcome the little one, as he is now big enough to not be eaten he is now considered one of them.

Sorry for the quality, some day ill stop using a phone for photographs.

Spotted a shrimp Pair making whoopie today, tanks doing fine, picked up a couple nerite snails to help battle the algae growing on the plant leaves...

The red leafed plants in the mid rotted away, not sure if they were even true aquatic. Picked up some dwarf HG.

Think its time to invest in a real budget dslr tired of taking/looking at horrible pics

Tank was doing fairly well, Fish thriving, shrimps breeding, slight algae issue but was coming under control then today I wake up to see this :/

Pretty disappointing its the only tank I have left.

Im moving in a month so I may try to attempt to plug the leak in the mean time.

Bummer on the leak. You definitely need more shrimp in that tank and by the sounds of it, it shouldn't be too long before that happens! Hopefully you can get that leak fixed quickly.

Leak was fixed pretty quickly everything's growing good, Lost a cherry due to old age (assuming) Have 1-2 Gravid shrimp atm. Starting to get a bit of hair algae just did a water change, think im gonna let the tank go dark for atleast 48hrs.

Gonna redo the substrate and hardscape after we move in a couple weeks. Id like it to look more original much less generic

Tank still exists. Recently swapped to fluval stratum, redid tank. Cherries died mostly old age couple berried, Weird brown skunk striped shrimp is still around, pretty big guy these days, but fish/filtration most likely ate most the babbies. Still have two serpae tetras left, picked up a Sparkling Gourami, he's fantastic. I'm going to pick up a co2 system, plants never did too well. Once the plants turn around I'm going to swap the filtration for a baby shrimp friendly one. Also have a few black/white/orange spotted shrimp, unknown common name.

There's a bit more Grass in the foreground the first photo was taken yesterday and I get get a better shot :/

Minor updates.

One of the multicolored shrimp died after a couple weeks, he ate and molted, not sure the cause. Sparkling Gourami is doing well tells me he my want a buddy/gf.But it seems to be incredibly tough to sex em unless you watch em breed/fem laying eggs/"Spotlight" em which really, I dont care the sex that much.(Actually according to
you dont need a spotlight if the tanks well lit, I believe my own is a female. Im on the hunt for a male tomorrow!

Tank played temporary home to baby (Half dollar sized!) Snapping turtle, friend found him in the middle of a large parking lot, seems he picked a wrong direction and just kept on walkin.

FG Plants doing very well, sprouting large roots, new grass like stems popping up all the time. Ive got two nocturnal snails that are probably the reason every few days one bunch is half sticking out of the sand, I may remove em.

Couple new amazons for the background, May add one more type of tall plant for the back and something of the mid ground, preferably something reddish and uncommon so ill be hitting up the For sale section as soon as I post this.

Eldest shrimp passed today, He will be missed. He will be remembered for his random color changes from brown with a skunk stripe, to black, to red. He is survived by atleast one offspring shrimp, and while they had their disagreements about Ford v Chevy and modern v rustic home design and Their political opinions couldn't have been more different. But they were there for each other, mostly when they interbred extending their line and throwing cultural norms to the current.

I only wish I could ease the pain of their loss, So I will, Ill buy more.

Picked up a few lbs of dragon stone, ubfortunatly the only other piece he had weights about 10lbs, didnt have enough.

I dont think Ill mix the dragon and seriyu.... my led lights a lil long in the tooth, I might setup a 2.5g betta tank and use the dragon stone in it, and buy a new light for my main tank as well as moar seriyu(or seriyu ish).

Having some haid algae problems Im afraid its going to choke out the hair grass. I might rent a CAE

So Im not quite sold on the new stem plants in the middle, Ive never been a good aquascaper.

Also the grass never did take off and carpet the bottom like I hoped, it looks like its starting to die off but its root system is impressive, So not sure whats happening there.

I could not for the live of me get the grass to grow. I had to be doing something wrong because its root systems were 3-5 times longer then the 1" of above gravel plant. My lighting is old its probibly no longer sufficent though pretty much every other plant is doing well. So I took it all out, and am holding it in a vase with an led lamp for now. I picked up some Glossostigma elatinoides but they were in a plastic cup with gel and it was difficult to tell where the roots were(Actually I didnt see much white strands AT ALL)

Photos of the plant once carpeted are stunning, and I think Im going CO2 now, just to keep the Glosso happy.
