Tank has now been up and running for about one week now and is performing well. As for the equipment i have a 60 deep blue rimless cube with built in corner overflow, eshopps sump, sicce return pump, caribsea gravel, mopani wood, 3 led lights, 2 for the tank and 1 for the sump. As for the inhabitants, there are roughly 20 + platy fry (some unfortunately have succumbed to the overflow) that range from 2 to 6 monts of age, pothos plants hanging around entire rim of tank with extensive roots and a large sword plant. The stand i made is open air concept for ease of accessibility and air circulation, not personally a fan of closed in stands. The stand is made of all 2x6 construction, 2 1/2" galvanized exterior screws with 2 pieces of 2x6 butted together in all 4
corners for extra strength. Bottom and top are center braced with 2x6 and topped with 3/4" plywood, then entire stand was sanded and stained. My hopes are to gradually add more plants, community small fish , amano and cherry shrimp. Its a work in progress but i want to take it slow and enjoy the process. Sorry for the sideways pics., thats the way they loaded.
