Hi everyone, My tank has been set up for 8 years now but since I'm new here I'll just start at the beginning.

Tank is a truvu 125H, 60X18X24 about 112 gallons.

Here is the finished frame for the stand and skinned with 3/4" oak plywood. I used 3/4" so I could use quarter round moulding on the corners to match the round corners on the tank.

I fabbed up a hidden latch to keep the kids out so I dont have to put locks on the outside of the doors.Click image for larger version

In the house, filled and checked for level and leaks.

I cheated a little and bought the doors because I wanted them to match the rest of the house.

I really like the stand with the quarter rounds, its a smooth finish! So these pictures are 8 years old? This will be a fun one to watch! Subscribed!

Yes all these pictures are 8 years old.

I bought the doors from a cabinet company to match what was in the kitchen.Click image for larger version

This must be pretty cool for you to revisit the build, and then be able to watch rather quickly what you have accomplished the past 8 years. Keep those updates flowing!

It is! I just removed 95% of all the plants that were in there as it was looking pretty bad. Most were anubias that someone in my tank is eating when the leaves are new and they had a lot of BBA on them. Went and got my co2 tank filled yesterday. Fertz arrived yesterday as well and I'm going plant shopping this afternoon. Time for a REFRESH!

Time for the canopy. I wanted something that would completely swing out of the way to make maintenance easy. I welded up a metal frame that rests on the top of the tank and used gas shocks to help lift it and keep it open.

Thanks! Just pulled all the driftwood out and cleaned it. Did a big water change and now time to go shopping. I'm excited to get it looking nice again.

Your craftsmanship on the stand is awesome! How many years does it take for the Bosemani Rainbow to become colorful? Iíve heard it takes a while but Iíd like to put some in my new tank.

Most of the Bosemani I have in my tank are ones that I bred from the first few I got. Out of about 70 that I raised I could tell pretty quick, within 6 months, which ones I was keeping. Even then, the size difference between the ones I kept is amazing. Some grow and color up so much faster than others even though they were all kept under the same conditions. I'll have to try to get good pics of my 3 year olds. Some are almost double in size. So be picky if you have a tank full to choose from.

Thatís good to know, thank you for the information as Iíve been looking on aquabid but it sounds like a local source would be a better idea. Canít wait to see more updates on your tank.

Well, the bosemani I posted above died the night after I took that picture. On the bright side I did get some more plants. Still looks bare. Here's how it looks now.
