5 gallon low tech

Iíve been away from the hobby for many years. Just recently a close friend gave me a small tank. This here journal will be showing my progress and a place to see how it goes.

My friend couldnít have Given me the tank fast enough. I rushed home washed everything and put it together. I quickly went to the LFS and purchased the eco complete substrate and a piece of spider wood.

Some notes on the tank
Eco complete substrate
Finnex ray light
Ph 7.2
Temp 78

I will be dozing with excel every day.

Here is the tank as of today

Looks nice! And welcome back to the hobby. Just one tip: If you plant the hairgrass in smaller clumps, it will grow in better. Like half the size of the smallest clump you have now. All you need is some roots and a few healthy shoots and it will take off!

Thanks for the tip.
Iíve thinned them down a bit. Iíve also gone ahead and ordered a new filter as I noticed my current filter wasnít giving enough flow and is on its way out.
