Low-tech 40 breeder community tank

HEY TPT USERS!

Ive had plants in some of my previous tanks but never kept a fully planted aquarium. Recently have decided I love this look and cant wait to setup my 40 breeder into an awesome community tank.

Im in the planning stages now with the beginning of the build starting mid august. Here is my current plan as far as full tank setup, planting plans, and fish stocking. Im always looking for suggestions and guidance. If you see anything you would recommend changing feel free to throw your advise in the comments.

As this build progresses I will update its status as often as I can, I will also update pictures.

You can follow this tanks progress on Instagram as well. @40bplantedmadness

Alright now for the plans!

TANK: 40 BREEDER (36"X18"X16")
LIGHTING: CURRENT USA LED 24"
SUBSTRATE: ECO-COMPLETE
HEATER: AQUEON PRO 150W
FILTER: MARINELAND 350 MAGNUM CANISTER FILTER (350 GPH)
POWERHEAD: SUN JVP-110 528 GPH

AQUASCAPE:
SOME KIND OF DRIFTWOOD SETUP (MALAYSIAN OR SPIDERWOOD)
DRAGONSTONE

PLANTS:
JAVA FERN
DWARF LILY
ANUBIAS NANA NARROW LEAF
SAGITTARIA SUBULATA
DWARF BABY TEARS
WATER SPRITE
BRAZILIAN PENNYWORT
ANCHARIS EGERIA DENSA
HYGROPHILA CORYMBOSA
GREEN TIGER LOTUS
GIANT HAIR GRASS
CRYPTOCORYNE WEDTII RED
HORNWORT
PIGMY CHAIN SWORD
ANUBIUS PETITE

STOCKING (IDEAS):
12 TETRAS (RUMMYNOSE, NEON, OR CARDINALS)
12 HARLEQUIN RASBORAS
8 PANDA CORYS
2 AMANO SHRIMP (WILL BE ADDED LATER)
CENTERPIECE FISH (NEED SUGGUESTIONS)
THINKING EITHER GBR, ANGEL, OR GOURAMI
WOULD LIKE TO ADD 6 KUHLII LOACHES BUT NOT SURE IF THEY ARE COMPATIBLE.

WOULD LIKE MORE FISH THAN THIS IF POSSIBLE SO THROW YOUR STOCKING SUGGESTIONS DOWN.

I would not recommend an angelfish in a 40B due to the height of the tank. My angel is in a 25g tank that is 20" high. I also have a 40B and can't picture him in there. He uses the full height of the 25g.

A pearl gourami might make a nice centerpiece. The GBR's are beautiful fish but maybe on the small side to be considered a "centerpiece", although they could still be a great addition to the community.

I second the pearl gourami suggestion, as I once had a male and female in my old 38 and loved them.
