This is my jungle tank at the mo, it’s a 30 gallon jewel, co2 injected, home to tetras corys, Amanos and gourami. I think it’s time to prune and rearrange, I like the overgrown look but my hubby doesn’t 😔 I like the plants growing across the surface but hubby thinks they will kill the other plants below, what would you do if this was your tank?

If the plants have been growing without issue then I would not be too concerned. The plants will let you know when they are unhappy.

I do like it and the jungle is my fav look (the only one I can get away with).
Maybe something like Ludwidgia repens or mayaca or Ambulia to cover the tubing / equipment against the left wall.

Well done.

Tell your hubby to start his own tank. Yours doesn't look overgrown at all.

Plants on surface shouldn't kill the ones below provided that the ones below are slower growers that don't mind the lower light -- which seems to be the case in your tank. How do you know? Like @Southern Outlaw said, if they look healthy, you're good to go. Many plants do not need that much light to be content. If anything, I think the surface cover would only serve to help some of the algae issues that you may be dealing with. It's one of the tricks for reducing light. Try seeing if you can get them to cover the plant with the big wide leaves on the right.

I post them on imgur and then link which is kind of a hassle, but so is having to get my pictures small enough to upload here... when that was even an option.

Thanks for that. I’ll give it a try. It’s so annoying. You take a nice pic on your phone and by the time you’ve resized it it’s a grainy mess!

This works well for posting quick images on forums that you don't need to keep.

https://postimages.org/

Don't need an account, no login, no app required, etc. Just upload and go.

Your tank doesn't look overgrown to me either.
