20 gallon hex new journal

This is my 20 gallon hexagon tank i got as gift when i first started fish keeping and it became my first real planted tank. The stocking has changed from crystal red shrimp to endlers to killies and now will just be ottos cherry shrimp and maybe some more pygmy cories to keep company the one who is already in there. just took a quick pic before my lights went off so excuse the untrimmed stuff and dirty glass. ill get some better ones tomorrow. gotta reset the black stones too since my snails buried half of them. thanks for looking comments and suggestions always welcome.

-20 gallon hex tank
-driftwood and black slate
-Baylees better bottom substrate and fish poop
-energysaver bulb and regular aquarium light
-excel everyday
-Rotala rotundifolia, anubias nana?, java moss, C. wendtii red, C. parva, Marsilea minuta, Java fern needle leaf, C. wendtii tropica, Salvinia mininma, and frogbit

Got three more otos today to go with the two i have. im pretty sure i found a zebra oto for $2.50. if not he still looks cool

Very nice! I like hex gallon tanks. Did you find it difficult to scape at all? You really managed to get nice depth in there.

i went through quite a few different scapes with this tank, but i really like it now, just needs some maintenance. not too difficult i think as long as you have a good piece of wood or something. no where near as difficult as my 55 has been. ive been working on that tank for over a year now and still am not satified

Very nice, love the way you setup the rocks in the gravel. It makes the tank look a lot more natural.

Do you have a journal for your 55g? I'd love to see it as I'm trying to get one up and running now

Thanks for the heads up! I love the idea of putting mirrors over the back sides, where did you manage to find mirrors to fit? Or is there a special mirror paper you found (that would be too convenient!). I'd love to cut plexiglass to fit the top, slice it down the middle and glue on a joint so I could lift the top without having to take down the light system. Where did you get your plexiglass cut?
