madcrafted's Spec V Tree Scape

I think I finally got my spec V where I want it as far as scaping goes. This is my 3rd layout on this tank since early November. I was conflicted by every attempt to create depth in this size tank. 6 inches isn't alot of real estate, making this a pain in the butt to get right. While I'm not 100% satisfied, I'm just going to ride it out at this point and see how it fills out. Right now I have the perfect amount of algae to keep critters happy without creating an eyesore. I just hope it stays that way. The plants are getting about three hours at full light intensity with a slow taper from 'sunrise' to 'sunset' thanks to the TC 420 dimmer.

Tank: Fluval Spec V
Light: Finnex Planted+ (with TC420)
CO2: Aquatek Paintball reg/solenoid (20 oz. tank) Rhinox 1000 diffuser
Filter: stock with Purigen in place of carbon
Ferts: EI dry, various seachem products
Substrate: Eco Complete, sand, a bit BDBS on bottom
Fauna: Male Veiltail Betta, Amano shrimps, nerite snails, single MTS, SAE (re-homed as of past week)
Flora: Anubias Nana Petite, Eleocharis acicularis 'Mini', Monte Carlo, Dwarf Sag, Rotala Indica Bonsai, Weeping Moss(tree), some random Crypt, nano moss balls (6 hidden behind rocks)

Here's my lighting schedule for the TC 420 (more for my own reference than anything). Sunrise to sunset 12 hours total but basically photosynthesizing for 8 hours with a 3 hour peak.

It's been a month since I last updated the progress on my spec v. The weeping moss on the tree has filled in nicely. The lobelia cardinalis is staying somewhat manageable as is the dwarf sag. I was worried they would grow quickly and screw with the scaling of the scape itself. The amanos continue to make a mess of the eco complete substrate. It's also starting to flatten out where I have it sloped... flat tank syndrome?? I'll never use this stuff for a scape ever again, that's for sure. Other than that, it's doing really well. The critters are happy, so I am too.
