80cm ''slightly dutch'' Rainbow Lake

Well, Hi there!

This is my first post here, but I've been doing lots of reading around here.
Now I think it's time to show you one of my creations. It's been running for almost 2 years now, but the new Setup with the CO2 and the extra lighting has only been running for a few weeks. Some of the plants are new and really need some time to grow in, but you can see that on the pictures.

Tank - Juwel Rio 125
Stand - Standard Juwel stand
Lighting - 4 x 18W TL ( 3 x Philips 840, 1 x Philips 865)
Substrate - HS Decoquartz
Co2 - Pressurized CO2 (500g Dennerle CO2 tank + Sera Seramic pH Controller)
Filtration - Eheim 2322 Thermo ( 500l/h)

10 x Iriatherina Werneri
5 x Pseudomugil Gertrudae
+- 10 C. Babaulti
+- 5 C. Multidenta
+- 10 N. Heteropoda '' Yellow''

Pogostemon Stellatus
Pogostemon Erectum
Rotala Rotundifolia
Blyxa Japonica
Bacopa Caroliniana
Ludwigia Glandiosa
Hygrophila Corymbosa
Microsorium '' Split narrow''
Heteranthera Zosterifolia
Cryptocoryne Wendtii ''Brown''

Front view

Side view

Some Blyxa

And some Rotala

Greetings, Philip

Really like this tank. I like the cleanliness, will you try to keep it looking this way or will you let the plants do their thing?

Thank you!

I'm trying to keep this so called '' cleanliness''. As you can see, some of the plants are still in their emersed form ( E.g. Bacopa Caroliniana, Pogostemon Stellatus) so these will need some time to reach their submersed form.

Also, the Erectum and Wallichi are Veeeery tiny at the moment, you might see them left and right of the Hygrophila. I'm waiting for them to pop up.

I'm planning to put in some foreground plants, starting with Staurogyne around the islands and then covering the entire substrate with something like HC or Glosso.

I'll keep you up to date!
