That piece of wood on the right is so cool. It looks like a pig head in one direction and like a fish opening it's mouth in the other direction, both with horns.

I know! I love that piece (so do my fish). I definitely see the pig, but not the fish. My brother told me it looked like a skull maybe a week ago, it's when I first noticed the head shape.

Rather than Seachem products I would buy GLA's ferts pack (about $25) and a 1 gallon jug of metricide ($26 shipped). Far better products for substantially less money. Flourish is mainly micro's. You need macro's. Those 2 purchases will last more than a year. Not only is metricide twice the concentration of Excel, but it is 30x the volume. It's all gluteraldehyde. There is nothing proprietary or special about excel other than price.

About fertilizers. I don't know what you mean when you mentioned those products, but what about NilocG Thrive? It says it has micro and macro nutrients in it. What would I use for carbon if not Seachem's product?
