Iamaloner's tanks

Hello all.

Been a lurker for years. I have a bunch of different tanks with a bunch of different plants. I think I will post photos mostly. It will also help me keep track of how the tank has progressed because it's so easy to get impatient and think that the plants are not growing

I'm not too geeky yet but I hope to be.
This tank is a rimless 80 gallon
Fire aqua tank and stand
First planted 1.5 years old
Let it turn to [censored][censored][censored][censored] 6 months ago
Replanted 4 months ago.
Keep adding and removing plants.

I need to improve my foreground layout. But overall I'm very happy with the tank

I'm not at all artistic. Therefore I never attempt hardscape.

Equipment and other hoo haas

I use a ecoxotic e90 and a current satellite plus pro. Goal is to replace the ecoxotic with another current satellite plus pro.
2 Eheim 2215s with 2 inline heaters attached
2 hydor circulation pumps 425s
GLA regulator 10lb co2 inline diffuser

Will list the plants shortly. Fish wise this tank has mostly rainbows and 8 harlequin rasbora's and 8 rummy's. I have 2 giant danios and 6-10 small salt and pepper Cory's and ottos combined. Hard to keep track of them they hide well.

Dosing homemade liquid ferts. Purchased from a fellow hobbyist in Toronto. Switching over dry ferts shortly and will be following EI

Thanks,

Robin

Yes and no tbh

Left corner has floscopa scandens. They are growing well and I will be trimming them soon and replanting hoping to create a dense bush of them. They grow super slow unfortunately

Right corner same thing. But its murdannia keisak. I don't know why but I love this plant and loved the way it looks. It's only been 8-10 days since I planted it and it's doubled in height. It's going to grow super fast. The goal is to replant the clippings and also create a dense bushy keisak filled heaven on the right side.

So the plan is to fill both corners in with existing plants.

Good to see another Rainbow tank on the site. There are quite a few now.

The tank looks great, and I look forward seeing it fill in and what you do with it.

Hello everyone.

It's been 5 days since I officially started EI. I'm doing macros and micros plus dtpa iron 11%
I will consider Magnesium and Calcium if I notice any deficiencies. I have both the sulfates on hand.

I used to use a premix fertilizer from a fellow hobbyist as it was easy.

I decided to go down this route as I noticed that some of the so-called easy growing plants are not going well at all. S repens are horrible, Penthorum sedoides are a disgrace and as always like a lot of us the AR mini is most disappointing. I know the AR mini is not an easy plant.

Here are some photos after a water change. Plant growth has been good and I'm happy with everything. Dealing with some algae like most of us but I put in the work and pick away at it as much as possible.

S repens are already looking better and I would say the p sedoides are also looking slightly better.

I'm thinking about anubias coffeefolia to fill in the gap on the bottom right - right behind the pogostemon helferi. As it's nice and dark green and has nice large leafs. It will also compliment the crypt on the opposite end.

Tomorrow is Monday and right now I'm hating my life - but there is hope... I wonder why I have 3 ecotech xr15fw and a new CO2 tank - hmm. Guess we will find out soon enough!

Also replanted the P helferi and marsilea crenata because it looked like a total mess. So it looks much cleaner now.

PS can someone identify the plant the Otto is sitting on? It's a red Lily but I don't have any idea what kind of Lily it is.

Some more plant shots and close up of the rainbows. Most are juvenile.

Having some issues with BBA but used to be much worse. Controlled with higher co2 and dosing Excel on water change day only - letting it soak in a higher concentration while the water level is low.
