["Only Cool Fish Alowed"] MrAqua Cube

Just put everything together in this long awaited tank.

Got the idea from Barr's ADa 60p NON CO2.

I liked the concept of having a tank that centered around the minimalist idea of the driftwood being the focus. I wanted to keep it as simple as possible with 1 type of plant (Annubias).

The sand is about 4-5mm and good enough to not let detritus build up on top. I choose a Zoomed 501 filter too keep a small current, enough to keep the water moving and keep the fish/shrimp happy. The heater is submersible 100W and the light is the 27W "Robocop" Home Depot light. Last is the decoration my roommate got. Although its not what I was hoping for I will keep it just to keep her happy.

The fish will include a Crowntail Betta that a friend got me, ghost shrimp and an gold apple snail as the cleanup crew.

Let me know what you think.

Regards,
nerdyJON

Good start. Be very careful with those Ghost Shrimp and an open tank. They are very frequently known to be jumpers.....

Thanks. If anyone has any suggestions let me know. Set up for a week now and waiting another week before adding the Betta.

So are betta . . . I know it ruins the lines, but some kind of screen might be a really good idea.

The water is an inch or more below the top, is that good enough?

i've had ghost shrimp become meals for my betta before unless that's the purpose or you don't care because they're so dirt cheap. Also l've never had ghost shrimp jump out of my 48g and i've had it about alittle less than a year now which l find weird O.o

Exactly my reasoning.

Are ghost shrimp a good clean up crew and is it hard to breed?

Betta can jump 2"-3". Coming home to betta jerky sucks.
