They are doing pretty well. Although I was reading a thread last night that scared me a little.

In the thread the guy said he had a mass die off and replies seemed to have blamed excel. Is there safer alternatives? Maybe just cut the lights to 6 instead of eight?

I have a line on a 10 that I'm thinking of just putting breeding stock in. And using as a quarantine as well what is the best way to keep both tank parameters matched or should I not worry?

I don't understand the question. I guess lvls is levels. What is suffering? Another alternative to Excel is Brightwell aquatics FlorinAxis.

Anything else I should test for?

I will post the parameters later. They are a lot better. The only thing is that the water will harden as the week goes on. Last time I checked gh was 12-13

Eco-Complete substrate lately seems to be changing water parameters in new tanks but after a month I would have thought yours would be settled in. Any other rock in the tank that could be dissolving? GH and KH normally don't change by a large margin.

LOL! It’s kind of frightening what happens when the hobby really takes hold . . . tank looks great BTW.
