Hi Tech 125g: The caecilians playground

So this is hopefully my renewal of keeping planted tanks. I've been at this for almost 10 years and after moving around a bit my main show tank has become outdated and mostly limps along at this point. Iím also not great at taking care of my tanks during the busy Midwest Summers. I have some livestock Iím pretty attached to that needs better accommodation. I wanted to either make a better setup or possibly get out of the hobby. So I purchased a used oceanic 125 gallon for $125 and a slightly oversized 2x6í stand for $50. I really don't like the stand but it will do until I move in ~2 years and build my own. This tank will be replacing my old 55 gallon. Below is a outline of my plans:

CO2: I will be using my Rex Griggs system that I bought in in 2008. It will be transferred from the 55. I will need to make a reactor for the canister filter as it currently uses a ceramic diffuser.

Filtration: 2x Rena xp3. One from the 55 (10+yo) the other was a steal I bought used a few years ago as a spare. I need to either buy or make a spray bar/intake for it.

Substrate: topsoil with play sand cap. I have some mineralized soil with added clay and azomite but not much. The rest will be plain old topsoil. I have ~250lbs of washed sand

Lights: DIY LED build - more to follow

Controller: The plan is to build an arduino based controller, specifically the iAqua version designed by MrMan. This will be the controller for 2x300w heaters, LEDs via PWM, and 2 or 3 dosing pumps, maybe some additional functions. The point of this is so I donít have to do it during the summer as I am busy most weekends, gone for other weekends, along with 1 week trips and they can fall pretty close together. I was gone 8 days, home 5, gone 8 this summer(sorry fish and plants!). One of my other hobbies is autocross/cars/motorcycles and it really takes up a lot in the summer. I dry dose when I do dose, but a lot of the time I fill up my weekly pill container with dry fertilizers and still find it full at the end of the week. So the less that relies on me the better! I am in a rental so I will not be hooking up to the water supply for water changes.

My goal is to have this set up by the end of the year. Iíve been doing research for 3+ weeks now on how I want to tackle this beast. I have also been working 50+ work weeks for the last month which includes a lot of weekends, including this Saturday. I have set up and leak tested the 125. I just need time to drain my 55 and flip flop the two tanks so the 125 is in the correct location. This way I can setup the 125 and let both tanks run for a bit before moving things over and taking down the 55. I will likely limp the 125 with the 55g light + some other lights, while I build the LED light and stuff.

How do I embed images without them showing up huge?

You can attach the pictures, that's what I do. Maybe there's a better way but currently, that's the only way I know how.

Update! Got tanks flipped around. Added mineralized topsoil with a sand cap to the 125 and filled with water. I made some PVC burrows for my caecilians. I am 50/50 on if they will actually use them. So I surrounded them with sand in case I remove them later. The white PVC will be hidden by hardscape and/or plants once the tank is established. There will be a spray bar in each corner so the top entrance for each burrow is pointed towards the spray bar in the hopes it scoops up current to provide some water flow through the burrows. Temporary filter location
