From Reef to a Planted Tank

HELLO PEOPLE! My name is michael, i LOVE this web site because it has given me a lot of info about everything i need to know related to fresh water tanks since I've only worked with saltwater ones. I did some research about freshwater tanks forums and this one just gave me everything i needed; pictures, ideas, vivariums, ripariums etc. So, I decided to start my own freshwater tank and anyones opinion will be gladly accepted I know very litle about plant names, the illumination they need, temperature, etc. What do you recomend? What plants should I get? Anyways...here's my 55 gal tank, Hope you like it!

Get some good bushy plants in there like Cabomba calafornia and possibly get a carpeting plant in there that will really make it look the bee's knees! What subsrtae do you have there? doesnt look like it has much nutrition for the plants :/ BUT if you where to chage the substate then you would be in business What lighting fixture do you have? Looks like t5's. Have a look into Blyxa japonica, Really nice bushy plant, good for a large tank like yours. Reasearch on aquascaping and look on google images at aquascapes, They will give you awsome ideas Great start.
