Christopher's 12 Gal Long

Hey guys after letting BGA destroy my last tank I have cleaned out and am reattempting this 12 gal long setup. I am running ADA substrate, eheim 2213 with glass lily pipes, current sat +, a powerhead, and chihiros doctor mini (shrimp). Now my setup consists of seiryu stone with a carpet of DHG (which I DSM'ed for 3 months) and some stems of AR mini. My intense v2 paintball reg cannot hold a steady bubblecount so I have a GLA SS-mini paintball reg on the way. I also will be getting a koralia nano to replace my powerhead as well as some stainless steel lily pipes.

Now I set this up 9/1 and as of 2 or 3 days ago I have noticed some cyano/BGA coming back to haunt me. It seems to be in a low flow area hence the powerhead upgrade. I also will be dosing ferts the second I get my new regulator. In addition to the mechanical parts I have ordered, I am expecting some erythromycin to help me with this bacteria. I did some reading and found that many have had complete success in eradicating their tank of cyano with this product. Will post some pics of the algae later tonight.

Update got off work early because felt sick. But here are my pictures for my Cyano/BGA. I dosed slightly above recommended for my erythomycin and disconnected lights/ covered tank in trashbags. I will leave the tank like this for atleast 48 hours then I will perform a 50% water change and siphon anything and maybe repeat. Any advice? I added koralia nano in tank as well hopefully that will take care of the perceived flow issue(i think flow caused the bga?).

Update: I switched out my powerhead for a koralia nano. I threw a SS mesh cover for my intake tube. I treated the cyano and eradicated it. I also have thrown 3 otos and 12 CRS in. So far I have only lost one oto. I have this brown algae film like on my walls, rocks,on some grass, and in the front substrate. Anyone know what it is?

My future plans are to stock maybe 4-6 more otos and most likely 10-20 more CRS and maybe 20 Neos of a different color. Do you think I can get away stocking any sort of schooling fish in here or i shouldn't even think about it?

Here are some pics let me know what you think.

A large school of chili rasboras would work in this tank or some male endlers. There are other options as well, just depends on what you like.

Nice looking tank. You could do some rasboras of your choosing, but I sometimes worry about how bright the lights are in these kinds of tanks with no places to hide.

You can defintely stock fish in this tank. A school of around 8 any of the small tetras would work. It's 12 gallon and has a great footprint. I am really digging brass tetras lately.
