Shy fish, slow water.

So I was thinking of constructing a 15 gallon planted tank, with a Diy AIO, which would house two beautiful species of fish. The peacock gudgeon (Tateurndina ocellicauda) and the celestial pearl danio (Celestichthys margaritatus) along with some nerite snails. The substrate would consist of ADA power sand special S and some tropica soil. The hardscape would be some river stones and manzanita wood. There would also be some caves built out of black 3/4 inch PVC. I am reasonably good at hardscaping, but not at choosing plants and choosing where to put them. I know I would like some crypts, preferably small red ones (suggestions for small red crypts would be nice, also some brown ones.), some Monte Carlo, rotala rotundifolia, Phoenix moss and staurogyne repens. Maybe some Buce if I could afford some.
-5 peacock gudgeons (2 males, 3 females preferably)
-15-20 celestial pearl danios
-4 nerite snails
-maybe some amano shrimp

Any suggestions are welcome.
