My homemade tank journal.

Here it is my first planted tank that survived and it was a home built tank with glass I had laying around. I've learned a lot so far. I'm 6 months in on this one. Started as a low light low tech. Then low light medium tech. Now high light low tech. Working out great. Not good with plant names so not sure what all I have. I need to trim it. But was just letting it go to see how it turns out. Not sure I can resist much longer. For the fauna, I had a few otos, but they seemed to think the grass was greener on the other side. Lesson learned, don't keep otos without a top. So remaining are neon tetras, red reli, and snails. Running a sun sun filter, eBay led and a finnex Ray for light, on 6 hours. Blasting sand substrate, well water, small dose of excel.
I'll get some pictures up in just a few.

I like the stem plants, they almost look like palm trees.

Ge 100% silicon. For this small of a tank, and the glass is thicker than needed, this is strong enough. For the 225 in rebuilding I used rtv.

started out with low light ebay led, dosing flourish, root tabs and excel. Now high light ebay led and finnex Ray, still root tabs and excel, no liquid ferts.
