I have not been on here in a long time but I still have my old 30g tank that has its better days. I am tearing it down and making a new 60H ADA tank. They are about the same size.

I am hoping to get an easy scape with nice clean lines that are not difficult to maintain. Motherhood is hard and as little work the better. I'll update the plants in my next post.

I’m also changing the tanks location to on top of a desk. I hacked an IKEA kitchen in to an awesome desk that will be more than surfactant to hold the weight of the tank. And it next to me while I edit wedding pictures. I don't want to put in water yet because I still need to attach side panels to my desk and make holes for the tubes.

But here it is for now!

HARDSCAPE:
Dragon Stone
Horn Wood and other
ADA Colorado Sand

IN THE CUP:
ADA Power Sand
ADA Amazonia Substrate

LIGHTS:
Finnex Planted+ 24/7 SE

PLANT:
Bylxa Japonica
Microsorum Trident
Narrow Leaf Fern
Anubias Nana
Anubias Nana Petite
Cryptocoryne beckettii 'Petchii'
Baby Leaf Bolbitis
Fissidens Fontanus
Riccia

FAUNA:
Neon Tetras
Gold Pristella Tetra
Gold Algae Eater
Panda Cory
Cherry Shrimp

Thanks for looking!

Here it is!! 98% done! I just have a few more phoenix moss to tie down somewhere and cover up some Krazy Glue.

Since I was switching tanks I was able to use the old water and filter in the new setup. This allowed me to put in the fish right away. Itís been 24 hours and everyone is very happy in there. I used 50/50 pf the water.

The whole idea of this tank was to have little maintenance. All plants are relatively easy and most of them are tied down to small rocks. I can just pluck them out to clean or replace them.

I am using the 24/7 light mode of the Finnex and I am hoping its not too much. At high time, I inject a little bit of Co2 for about 4 hours. I donít know how much it is though but definitely no more then 30ppm.

The only big problem is that my filter is leaking!! I ordered the Fluval Motor Seal Ring and I hope that will fix it. I really donít have the money for a new filterÖ
Iíll make a list of the plants next time. For now I leave you with a few pictures!

Thanks for looking.

Yeah. Fingers crossed that the Trident takes off. I really like how it looks in tanks.
And I hope fuzz algae does not develop... I always have a hard time with it.

Desk 60H Aquarium

Still fishing out shrimp from the old tank. I hate killing them but I will have to pull the plug this weekend. I did this trap and it seems to be working. It also caught a few fish lol.

An update of the overall and plant/fauna list.

The tank is looking good and I see that plants like Bylxa and Ricca are actually growing. Iím surprised because I didnít think the light would be enough for them. But Bylxa is actually having some blush in her leaves. Its just sitting there in the sand. I am wondering if I should do something about it so that it does not take a turn for the worse; maybe like root tabs. I was worried about the Phoenix Moss because it turned dark and I thought it was dead but today I am seeing a few green dots in it Ė YAY for that!

Baby Leaf Bolbiti looks dead but Iíll let it sit there and see what will happen.

Trident tips are turning dark and its getting me a bit worried. I hope its just something I didnít see before and that the plant is fine. There is a picture of it; what do you guys think?

The water is cloudy and full of tennis. But help is on its way! I just ordered Purigen to put in my filter. @Highseq suggested it. Iíll keep everyone posted oh how it works.

Nice scape, you won't regret that purigen; it's some good stuff!

Maybe an eheim skim 350 to get rid of that oil on the surface.
