My First planted tank (56K) **UPDATED 26/12/04**

After planting and replanting and rearraging I ended up with this aquascape.
Please tell me your comments and suggestions to improve it.

the square green in the fron of the tank is glosso not planted yet.
It will be planted tomorrow.

I also have some riccia left, any ideas on where to use it, decorate it, place it??

Thanks

Looks interesting! You've done a nice job!

Things are still in the beginning stages, so it is difficult to give you advice on how to improve. I would say give it a little time to grow, then repost some shots. We will have a better idea on how things are going and where changes can be made. My guess is also that by that time, you will also be doing some moving and replanting.

I think it looks cool. I'll be interested to see how it progresses.

My recommendation for the Riccia is to attach it to rocks or some other objects which can be easily removed, so that when it comes time to trim it or replant it you can just pull it out of the tank and do so easily. I attach it to rocks using hair nets and zip ties. Works great. Plus you can create a field of Riccia rocks and rearrange them to suit. Great work so far!

Beautiful job sllo! If you're new at this, you've got a great eye for layout. This tank should be spectacular when things grow in.

A couple of suggestions: the foreground in the center appears bare, add something to cover it. The stem plant in the foreground on the right should be moved back to the midground or background (do I sound like Takashi Amano yet?). The lilly will likely outgrow this tank eventually, you may want to consider replacing it at some point.

Your plants still have a lot of growing to do and things will definitely change over time so don't worry too much about changing things yourself at this point. I think you've got the beginnings of an excellent design here. Keep us posted

Wow, I really love the way this tank looks. Such a wide variety of shapes and colors, really a lot for the eye to take in.

Very nice, what is the plant in the front right with pink oval shaped leaves?

I would leave that stem plant in the foreground, i like the rounded off/surronded look. Thats what i'm going for kind of. lol

I think you've got it ready to go now Very smooth aquascaping with a somewhat concave design. The plants are placed perfectly and should look even better as they grow in. Very nice job man!

Wow! It looks wonderful! What a difference some time makes!

It is going to be an out of this world aquascape as soon as the foregrounds grow in. Make sure to post some more photos!
