46 glow bow - simple and low tech
I took a long hiatus from the hobby to finish grad school and start a family. Things have settled down and I have my finances are in order so I decided I upgrade my 6 year old 12 gallon long that was very neglected to shiney new 46g bowfront. I saw this ensemble at petsmart a few months ago and fell in love with it. Waited for it to go on sale and snagged it!
Marineland C360 canister
Finnex 24/7 planted+ light
Substrate: pool filter sand
Deco: background, rocks and stump are by universal rocks.
I decided to go this route becase in the past finding the right peice of driftwood has always been a nightmare and I don't like the tannin stained water look. Finding good rocks in my area is also difficult. Maybe this is considered "cheating" but I'm very happy with how it looks.
It's been set up for about 2 weeks now and is cycling. Occupants are a couple Nerite snails and one red eye tetra that refuses to die (had him for about 10 years)
Thanks for looking!
