45 Gallon Redone!

Yeah.. I did it again.. I retired the 90 gallon tank and re-arranged fish loads, plants, and hardscape.

The fish from the 90 mostly went into the 135 Gallon, and the South America fish went into the 45 (2 plecs, a pair of convicts). I also moved a gourami that has been troublesome with other fish in here.

Everything in that tank is held together by gravity and careful placement. I spent 3 hours placing the wood so it is all interlocked and self supporting. I love 3D puzzles :-)

It looks like it Gareth! You are a master with wood. I marvel at the wood placement in all of your aquariums!

Plants look great as well. I can't wait to see it in a couple of months!

Is it just me or does the way the wood is arranged make the tank look very deep? Provocative aquascape Gareth.

THats the what I was trying to accomplish actually.. I have a lot of fun aquascaping 12" deep tanks because its quite the challenge.... A lot of the wood was stacked using pieces that are quite flat so they are pressed up against the back glass and sharply slope to the bottom front. Many of the branchier pieces allowed for the bulk of the wood to be elevated making a tangled root like structure.

The Convicts "Love" this tank.. I may even add a few more Cichlids to the mix.. just to keep it lively.

Scary thing is.. I still have about 100lbs of Mopani left....

Or you could just send it to me if you want to get it out of your way
