This is my new ventures with aquascaping. After 8 months learning with high tech tank (CO2 dosing, liquid ferts, and high led), this time i experimenting with a lo tech tank.
The hardscape mainly rocks.
The plants :
- Anubias Broadleaf, Anubias Minima, Anubias Nana, Anubias Golden for background.
- Java Fern also for background.
- Bacopa, i forgot which one.
- Echinodorus Tenelus
- Cryptocoryne Balansae
- Cryptocoryne Parva
I plan to dose with excel and light ferts after 1 week. The light is led diy 24 watt set up 25 cm from the tank, photoperiod around 6 hour/day, with 3 hrs on, 2 hrs off, 3 hrs on.
Here is the look of the new setup day 1.
Hope i learn new things with my new ventures.
Adding more Montecarlo and Java Fern. Here's 4 days old.
This is day 7 after flooding, everything seems normal to me. Today i check water parameter for the first time and it showed:
NO3 : 50 mg/l
NO2 : 0 mg/l
Gh : 10°
Kh : 6°
Ph : 6,4
The plants still transitioning to submerse form. The obvious one is Montecarlo, the new leaves is very small indeed. I compared it with the one in my high tech tank. So far so good.
But the nitrates level is still high, so i will wait another week to put shrimp or fishes.
Hopefully next week the cycling process is done and the nitrates level is lower enough for the fish in this tank.
Here's the picture i took on 05/21/2017
And dosing fert macro and micro with weekly EI method for the first time, 4 ml and 9 ml.
