Well after almost a year of reading, pondering and dreaming of owning my own planted aquarium i took the plunge.
As this is my first planted tank I haven't gone all out and wont be jumping into the deep end right away.
Yesterday I spent all day laying my substrate and more than half the day picking up and putting down rocks... but finally i'm happy!
Had to take a short journey to Gloucester to get some Dwarf Hair grass as no shops by me have any.
Separated it into clumps of about 10 strands and planted in a grid like form about 1 inch apart, 1 inch into the substrate. For the substrate i'm using Tropica Soil Powder, tetra substrate and capped with Black Moon Sand.
Going with DSM as i'm in no rush and just want it to look its best.
For lighting im using 1 T8Pro built into the hood running for 10 hours a day.
As for watering i'm unsure, there's small water droplets on the blades of grass and the substrate looks pretty damp but that could be the shine off the sand, who Knows!
Updates on progress will follow.
