very cool, I like 20 gallon tanks, they are small and still give a nice space to plant! And aren't to tall at all. Have fun with it man, I know you will!

Looks like a nice setup, no heater ? Did those light legs come with the light? or did you buy them seperately?

ok so i got coralife lights 1 x 65 watts
the legs were like 3 dollars they are not the better quality kind
i have a hagen 30
and a 75 watt stealth heater is on its way
i am going to put 3 bags of ecco complete

i was thinkin of making the back half of the tank raised with gravel, and the front lowered. so its separated.

i am planning on putting
rotala indica
red ludwiga
ferns on driftwood
anubias
glosso

have any other suggestions for some plants that would compliment these?
i will also be starting two DIY 2 liter bottles once i get it started.

Looking nice there, you should be seeing more growth within the next 2-3 weeks. I like how you added a higher layer in the back and lower layer in the front. I was thinking about doing the exact same thing, but it's a bit to late now.

Nice terrace you've built there! I may have to steal that idea for a future set-up !

Can I ask a stupid question?
What is it that you used to separate the higher level from the lower?
Is it just some rock, or a DIY thing? Just curious cause I love it and would love to try that.

Nice tank!! Love that split level in the substrate. I might steal the idea too when I redo my 20 later this month.
LOL It looks like you may have started a new trend.
Looking at your fish list, that's a big fishload to add all at once. I would wait a couple of weeks before adding the cardinals and Rams. Starting off with the SAE, Ottos, Catfish and Amanos would kickstart your tank nicely.

Nice looking tank. Definitely got something to work with.

I second that. Adding that many fish all at once is not going to go smoothly, especially in only a twenty gal.
I hope that's just a list of fish you're going to end up with eventually...

hey a new trend ay?

well all i have is 2 bags of eco complete on the bottom and flattened it out as best i can. Then i took some rocks and a drift wood and place them on the substrate. Once they were in the positions i wanted, i then added a 3rd bag of ecco only to the back so that the rocks and wood will hold it back, and create a upper ledge.

Ummm i think i will consider only getting the algae eating fish for now, but yes that is pretty much the final list that i have =) along wiht my 20 i have two other 10 gallons that i will show soon, i redid both of them as well.

I'm wondering if you might consider trying some moss on the ledge(s). just a thought.
