125 Gallon Planted Journal - Updated 12-11-04 background added :)

I'm excited since my new tank arrives tomorrow and I thought I would start a Journal. These first pictures are ones I took at his house when I first looked at it. I'm currently rearranging and sorting fish for the delivery tomorrow so I can move my 55 Gallon tanks as it is going in that spot and I don't want to have to move it after it gets here.

Well, here are the first shots, I will post more tomorrow after I pick up the play sand and get it together.

The pictures may be intermittent as I just changed hosts...

125 Gallon AGA w/ Overflows
Filtration: Ehiem 2026 Filter, Dual "Ghetto" Overflow Internal Filters
Lighting: 1x96W Current USA CF - 2x96W Generic CF
Co2: Pressurized Co2 - Rex Grigg Regulator, SMS 122, and Rex Grigg Reactor.
Plants: Pogostemon yatabeanus, Foxtail, Bacopa, Egeria najas, Anubius, E. 'Ozelot Red', Ranalisma rostrata, Hornwort, Rotala Indica, Ludwigia Repens, Vals, Cabomba, Lilly, MoneyWort

Right now I'm just trying to figure out how to move the 55 Gallon. The only other tanks I have readily available are a 30 Gallon that contains 2 GSP (not a good idea for guppies to be in there. ) and a 10 Gallon containing 15 Cory Fry (not a good idea for any fish to be in there).

Go to Wal-Mart and buy yourself a couple of large plastic storage bins. You can get a 20-30gal bin for ~$10.

Loving the lifelike snowmobile effect on the back glass. What an interesting biotope that will be...
Some of the silicon joins look a little rough in the pictures. Might want to give them some attention.

Now that was a good laugh. I wish that was mine, but it isn't. Someday maybe.

I'm considering doing a painted background.

All right an inspiration post. This is going to be great. Looks like the 125 is in good shape. Does that PC light strip come with it along withb the other things you posted pics of? How about that Artic Cat 580 in the back?

It looks like it may have been a salt water set up, but hard to tell.

I agree on the movement. Get a big bin, transfer everything into it and then drain the tank the rest of the way. That’s how I generally do it, other than I only have five gallon buckets.

Please keep us updated, I love these posts!

Currently tankless for the first time in 24 years... Getting the itch again

Well, right now I'm waiting on the phone call for delivery. Then I have to figure out how to get to Home Depot for 200 lbs of Playsand... I don't think I have enough sand total here to do the tank.

No, the snowmobile isn't included. I'm going to clean out a 29 Gallon I have here that hasn't been tested. If it holds water I just need to figure out where to put it so I can put the fish in it temporarily.

Yes, it was originally a saltwater tank. The tank itself and filter have been well cleaned, but I still have to clean the power heads and other accessories included. Yes, the two JBJ 2x96W PC Light strips were included w/ a 10K and Atnic bulb each. That is the way they are going to stay for a while until I have about $60.00 and then I will replace the two atnic bulbs with 6700K bulbs. I figure that lighting will probably be better by default than my current 4x40W Shop lights over a 55 anyways.

The fish, plants, snails, rocks, and driftwood are all sharing their temporary home. I didn't get the outside of it clean but it is a 29 Gallon. Considering they will be in there new home by the end of the day and that this tank is going to my Dad's to have a stand and hood built for a christmas present for my nieces I didn't see the point in cleaning the outside yet.

It is here and in it's new location.

Here are the accessories, excuse the 55 Gallon as I haven't figured out where to put it yet.

Well, I'm cleaning the playsand now, the easy way.

150lbs of play sand into tank.

Python into tank.

Upper right hand corner of picture, syphon running out window.

I did this with my 55 Gallon. Fill halfway while syphoning, shut water off let drain, fill again, etc..

Yes, my water is covered by my space rent. And I don't do this often so the landlord doesn't complain.

As for time, I'm having to clean all included equipment except the tank (which he had already cleaned) so I have at least 2 hours probably three.
