ADA 60p planted tear down to zebra pleco cave

So it's been about 9months with my planted shrimp and fish tank but last weekend I decided to tear down the tank to prep for zebra pleco tank only. I believe during the 9months this tank got like 5 makeover and ended up to be Dutch tank. I will miss you.

Here is the tank now.

And my son wasn't happy with the tear down

Had some time today to add some slate

Yea it was a very hard decision so I ended up having to buy the ADA 60f to house the current live stock and plants after cycling it. You can see the 60f reflection in this photo.

My son had the same reaction at that age when I tore down my 10gal betta tank when we moved. Glad I didn't decide to start another tank since I'm moving again soon. Looking forward to watching the build!

Here is the final formation of the slates.

Also my tree came.

Here is a ideal spot but I need advise if I should leave it there or add some more egg crate and make the tree higher?

Also should I keep it with moss and anubias or no plants to keep a desert theme?

That tree is pretty cool, where did you get it?

Also, how did you like the algae scrubber? I'm kind of on the fence on getting one.

I would go with true willow moss on the tree, if possible, if not then Christmas moss (funny cause its Christmas) I think the tree looks good but at the same time kind of out of place?? if it were me I would raise it much higher to get the mountainy stone theme going... but when the plants are all in the tank and such im sure it will look better

To be honest I wish they come out of hiding more to enjoy. Spending this much on a fish I would except to see it more.

Thank you for the comment. Here is a updated photo of the tank cleaned up and the zebra pleco. I know it's too late but I wanted to paint the back black so the zebra can come out more so I decided to use some left over carbon fiber sheet I had laying around. It took only 45secs to apply and looks great also easy to remove.

Another one hiding between the cracks.

Zebra oto tank mate

And tank before black background

And here is the carbon fiber installed.
