Lightbulb A Tank to Bring Together Our Community

Hi Guys!

My name is Shane! You may recognize me from other posts regarding the donation of aquatic plants to my cause. So far, the donation process has been a great success. I have received plants from 3 people and will continue to receive a couple more plants...

I have all the plants in a stable quarantine tank until I finish planning out the hardscape, as well as receive some hardscape materials and aquasoil.

Before I start, I would personally like to thank:
  1. @turningdizzy
  2. @j03yYunG
  3. @Rick91981
  4. @natemcnulty
  5. Aquarium Design Group (Holt Hanson and their entire team)

All of these members have shown incredible generosity and have donated these aquatic plants to me. It truly showed my class and I the value of any community, as these people clearly had our backs and did something so positive!!

The materials I currently am planning on using are:
29g Aqueon Aquarium
Eheim 2213 Canister Filter
Fugeray Planted Plus (with moonlights) LED Lighting
Aqueon 200W heater
Auavitro Humate Substrate (THANKS ADG!!!)

The plants I currently have and/or will be receiving are:
Rotala rotundifolia
Rotala Indica
Anubias Barteri Nana
Hygrophila Corymbosa
Lobelia Cardinalis
Java fern baby
Eichornia Diversifolia

I attatched my preliminary sketches (I got a help from the great Hiep Hong)

I also attatched some of the drawings I produced.

In one of the drawings, I labeled the plants by number, and here is the key for that:
1. Crypt Wendtii 'Green'
2. Lobelia Cardinalis
3. Anubias Nana 'Petite'
4. Java Fern and potentially Java Fern 'Trident'
5. (Blue stuff) Bolbitis H.
6. Rotala Rotundifolia
7. Limnophilia Sessiflora
8. Hygrophila Carymbosa
9. Eichhornia Diversifolia
10. Rotala Indica

I would also like to thank Hiep Hong, JArt, and ShadowMac from the aquascaping podcast. I will continue to update the "thank you" lists as more plants come in!

Any advice or comments would be appreciated!

Thanks,
Shane

Adding to the list of people I would like to thank:
  1. @Bartohog
  2. Karol at CO2Art
  3. SS at Substrate Source
  4. Matt at BucePlant.com
  5. The good people over at Seachem

All of these people expanded the horizons of our tank, and made an even more amazing planted tank possible.

Update: I have greatly modified the scape. I decided to go with a 'triangular composition' instead as it seemed to be more interesting to me.

I had a question about a plant I saw at the neighborhood LFS. It looked like Ludwigia, but it was yellow/red and had serrated edges that looked like little spines. It was a stem for sure. Does anyone know what plant this might be?

Thanks for all the help!!
Shane

Bump: Lol, I am feeling a little bit lonely on here. If you read this, just say hi please. ;(
