Quack's 20g high

Note: I'm striking some stuff out just to keep track of how much has changed.

Hey everyone, Iíve been lurking for a month and Iím finally at a point where Iím happy enough with my tank to start a journal/intro post. My tank has been going since mid-October, according to the earliest picture Iíve taken of it. I started with the Aqueon 20 gallon LED kit, although the only things Iím still using from that are the tank itself, the filter, and the heater. Hereís my stuff:

Tank: 20 gallon high
Substrate: Spectrastone black gravel Fluorite black sand
Filters: Fluval/Aquaclear 30 and Aqueon QuietFlow 10 (with sponge intake guards) Fluval 206
Lighting: Finnex Planted+ 24/7 Finnex Planted+
Heater: Preset 78įF heater from kit
Versa twin-tube glass top
Aquatek Mini CO2 regulator with 24oz tank and Fluval ceramic 88g diffuser DIY Grigg reactor
Drop checker with 4dkh indicator solution from GLA
EI stock solution dosing using rotalabutterfly, KNO3 and KH2PO4 MWF and CSM+B TuThS, 50% water change on Sun. PPS PRO, water change weekly (at most)
Seachem root tabs

Fish:
Harlequin rasbora x10
Neon tetra x7
Lemon tetra x5
Oto x3
Horned nerite snails x5
MTS (on purpose, to aerate sand)

Plants:
Hygrophila corymbosa (2 different variants, the one I got from PetSmart says compacta)
Anubias frazeri
Ludwigia repens
Amazon sword
Some type of val (jungle)

P. erectus
AR (don't know variety, sold as a "Background" plant tissue culture at Petco)
Anubias nana or nana petite
Utricularia graminifolia
Rotala rotundifolia
Ammannia gracilis

Thanks everyone, Iíll keep you all updated with pictures.

Regarding stocking it would be best to increase numbers on the rasboras and tetras so they are comfortable. 6 of each is a minimum.

Made lots of changes. Decided I didn't like the 24/7, switched to the normal planted+. Took off the aqueon filter. Got a nice piece of manzanita. Started a monte carlo carpet. Added 6 rasbora, 2 neons, 5 horned nerites.

Things I'm not fond of now;
My substrate. I wish it was finer and better for plants in general.
My CO2 diffuser. Big bubbles.
How tall my pygmy chain sword gets, but my gut says it would look dumb if I trimmed it.
How slow my ludwigia is growing since I propagated it (not at all).
My RCS dying off. Down to two now.

Parameters right before my weekly 50% WC;
Ammonia 0
Nitrite 0
Nitrate 40

Switched to fluorite black sand. Added a Fluval 206 with a DIY Grigg reactor because I was sick of the bubbles. Running both the 206 and the aquaclear/fluval 30 for at least 2 months while the 206 gets established. Then I'll be able to take out the 30 and hopefully my plants will be tall enough to hide that ugly tube. I'll probably paint it black too. Tore up most of the monte carlo, looking for some UG to replace it. Removed some of the easier plants and replaced them with more difficult plants, since it didn't make sense to be doing fert dosing, fancy lighting, and CO2 injection for low-tech plants. The plants I'm talking about are Pogostemon erectus, AR, and Ammania gracilus. Here are some pics.
